No mystery bales. No vague condition claims.
Every lot sold by The Sorting Room is inspected, sorted, graded, and counted before it is listed. Each product listing clearly identifies the lot’s quantity, category, brand or brand group, and condition grade so you know what you are purchasing.
NWT — New With Tags
NWT indicates that the item’s original branded retail tags remain attached. It describes the item’s tag status rather than guaranteeing its physical condition.
NWT items may include overstock, shelf pulls, or customer returns and may show signs of shelf, warehouse, or handling wear. Minor factory defects may also be present. Any condition concerns beyond what would reasonably be expected from storage or handling will be reflected in the listing or applicable condition grade.
Grade A — Like New
Items are in like-new condition with little to no evidence of ordinary wear. This grade may include new without tags (NWOT) items as well as previously handled or worn garments that remain in otherwise excellent condition.
Items may have intentional factory fading, distressing, or other original design characteristics. Size and/or material tags may be missing.
Grade B — Light Wear or Minor Defects
Items are in good overall condition but may show minor wear or defects. Conditions may include light fading, wash wear, slight pilling, loose stitching, a cracked or missing button, or other small cosmetic or repairable issues.
Items remain generally suitable for resale without substantial repair. Size and/or material tags may be missing.
Grade C — Noticeable Wear or Damage
Items show noticeable wear, damage, or other visible imperfections. Conditions may include pilling, pinholes, stains or spots, fading, discoloration, visible wash wear, loose or damaged stitching, small holes or tears, missing hardware, or similar defects.
Items may require cleaning or minor repair and are generally suited for lower-priced resale, flea markets, repair, upcycling, or personal use.
Grade D — Project or Salvage Grade
Items have significant wear, damage, or defects and are sold primarily for repair, projects, upcycling, salvage, or textile reuse.
Conditions may include substantial holes or rips, large or heavy stains, broken or missing hardware, extensive pilling, severe fading or distress, seam damage, or heavy overall wear. Items should not be assumed to be ready-to-wear or immediately resale-ready.
Lot-Specific Information
Every listing identifies the condition grade or tag status, piece count, and brand, category, or assortment represented by the lot. When a lot contains more than one condition grade, the listing will identify the grade mixture or provide an item count for each grade.
Photographs show the actual lot being sold unless the listing explicitly states otherwise.
Sizes, Colors, and Assortment
Sizes, colors, styles, brands, and individual item types may vary within the stated assortment. When multiple brands, styles, or categories are listed as part of an assortment, no particular distribution or quantity of each is guaranteed unless specifically stated in the product listing.
No particular size, color, style, brand, or individual item is guaranteed unless specifically stated. Buyers should review the complete description and all photographs before purchasing.
Any known condition issue that materially exceeds the lot’s stated condition will be disclosed in the individual listing. When an individual product description provides more specific information regarding condition, contents, or assortment, that description applies to that particular lot.
